Bushings

Bushings, also known as plain bearings, sleeve bearings, or linear sleeve bearings, are fitted between a rotating drive shaft and a housing to assist keep the shaft in place and decrease vibration, allowing hubs and shafts to last longer. Keyless bushings have a smooth, round bore that is devoid of a keyway or set screw, allowing them to be used in applications where the shaft rotation direction must shift. Tools with smaller shafts can be used on bigger bores with the use of reducing bushings. Quick detachable (QD) bushings have a split on one side that makes it easier to put them on shafts of different diameters. Tapered bushings have a keyway and are inserted into the bore by pressing the bushing.
