Cordless Tool Batteries

Cordless tools are powered by tool batteries. They're used to add batteries to bare tools, switch between battery series, and replace batteries that are broken or no longer hold a charge. Tools of the same brand, battery series, and voltage can utilize the same battery. The level of power provided by the battery is described by its voltage. Lower-voltage batteries make tools lighter and more compact, but they are less powerful than higher-voltage batteries. Different amp-hour ratings are generally available for batteries of the same voltage and series. The quantity of electricity stored in the battery (its capacity) influences how long a fully charged battery can operate before needing to be recharged. The storage capacity of a battery is proportional to its Ah rating. The weight and bulk of the battery and the tool it powers rise as the voltage and Ah ratings increase.
