Machining Vises
Machine vises are permanently attached to machine worktables and are used to place and hold workpieces while they are being machined. They're also known as work holding vises because they have a wide base that offers a sturdy mount and wide jaws that grip work pieces over a vast surface area. The movable jaws of the vises can be opened and closed to change the clamping force. The size of the work pieces that can be held in the vise is determined by the jaw height, width, and opening size.
