Ball End Mills
General-purpose carbide ball end mills are designed to mill a wide range of common materials, however they are not suited for hard materials such as titanium or sticky materials such as aluminum. Roughing and roughing/finishing end mills produce a finer finish on the workpiece than finishing end mills. Carbide end mills are harder than high-speed steel or cobalt steel end mills and provide exceptional wear and heat resistance. In milling duties, ball end mills feature a rounded nose that forms a round-bottomed groove. They're also known as ball-nose end mills, and they're used to make round-bottomed slots and pockets, as well as mill complex designs without sharp corners, by rotating against a workpiece.
