Bench Grinders
Bench grinders are stationary instruments that use a high-speed spinning abrasive wheel or belt to shape or smooth a workpiece. They attach to a workstation, and the operator forms or smooths the piece with both hands against the moving wheel or belt. The higher the grit level of the belt or wheel, the more material it will remove. The finer the grit level of the belt or wheel, the smoother the finish on the workpiece will be. Belts cover a larger surface area than wheels and give a smoother, more even finish. More simply than belts, wheels can extract material from small regions, curves, and curved parts. When not in use, bench grinders are small and easy to store.
