Abrasives
Abrasives are materials that are used to remove material from a workpiece. Sanding discs, sanding belts, sandpaper, deburring tools, and other industrial abrasive goods shave off layers of wood or remove rough edges, nicks, and notches from metal workpieces. Cutting, grinding, sanding, and finishing wheels are used to cut, grind, sand, and finish metal, glass, wood, brick, and concrete surfaces. Abrasive-blasting equipment cleans and finishes surfaces by delivering abrasives at high pressures. Polishing and buffing abrasives provide a workpiece a smooth, glossy surface for a pleasing appearance. Sharpening stones and abrasive dressing supplies are examples of abrasive accessories that help maintain instruments ready for the next work.
