Emergency Lighting Fixtures

When the power goes out, emergency light fixtures immediately turn on and illuminate pathways to exits. They may stay lit for at least 90 minutes, guiding evacuations and allowing first responders and maintenance personnel to navigate throughout buildings during a power outage. They're also known as egress lights or bug-eye lights since they run on batteries or have a battery backup and can work independently of hardwired fixtures. Local safety rules require emergency light units to be installed and checked on a regular basis. Mounting them at the required spacing gives coverage to fulfill code-specific illumination levels and minimize dark patches without over lighting the path of escape. Install general-purpose emergency lights in dry, non-hazardous areas. Wet site emergency lights can tolerate water exposure.
