Cutting Tools

Cutting tools cut a range of materials with one or more blades. Wood, bush, and other vegetation are cut with axes, machetes, hooks, and wedges. Bolt and chain cutters may handle a variety of materials, including bolts, padlocks, chain, wire mesh, and more. Cable cutters cut cable and wire rope ends without fraying or flattening them. Steel strapping cutter tools eliminate superfluous strapping. Seals are made with gasket cutters out of rubber, plastic, cork, fiber, felt, and other materials. Glass cutters slice glass tubing or plates in order to shatter them cleanly. To shape, level, and smooth wood surfaces, hand planes scrape off tiny layers. Wire, screws, nuts, and nails are all cut by nippers. Scissors are used to cut thin materials such as paper, film, plastic sheets, and other thin materials. Snips, notchers, and nibblers cut sheet metal in straight, curved, or notched cuts. In vinyl J-channels, siding cutters create notch cutouts, drain tabs, and miter cuts.
