Washers

Washers properly distribute the fastener head's pressure across a surface without causing harm. They also ensure that the fastener is placed against a flat surface, which reduces the likelihood of it loosening over time. To keep fastener heads and materials from loosening, lock washers bite into them. In low-strength fastenings, wave washers feature an uneven form that resists loosening and distributes pressure.
