Lanyards

Workers' safety harnesses or body belts are connected to anchor points on a neighboring building or structure by self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) and shock-absorbing lanyards. SRLs move with the employees, letting them to move around freely until a fall is detected. If a worker begins to fall, the SRL will abruptly brake, stopping the fall and absorbing the energy. Shock-absorbent lanyards help to reduce the impact of a fall. They prevent workers from free-falling and expand as the fall is interrupted, helping to dissipate the power of the fall.
