Vertical Milling Machines
Knee-and-column milling machines, also known as variable-speed vertical milling machines, remove material from a workpiece using rotary cutting tools. The cutting tools are fastened in a vertical configuration on the machine's table, while the workpiece is secured in a horizontal orientation. For plunge cuts, the table can be lifted and lowered. Horizontal milling machines are often easier to use and take up less space than vertical milling machines. Milling machines are used to make items with complex forms and features in manufacturing facilities and machine shops.
