Retaining and Lock Ring Pliers
Snap rings that fit into a bore or onto a shaft and hold components in place are installed and removed with retaining-ring pliers. Their tips, also known as circlip pliers, offer a solid grasp on the rings to keep them from flying away. Each pair of pliers adjusts its jaws to fit rings of a specific diameter range. Rings are routinely placed on actuators, gear assemblies, motor shafts, and other machinery with retaining-ring pliers.
