Thread Insert

Threaded inserts are used to repair damaged threads in plugs and other parts, as well as to generate new threads in holes for fastening purposes. They can also be used to convert metric fasteners to standard threaded holes and vice versa. To repair stripped threads, thread repair inserts are inserted into an existing hole using an installation tool. To generate a threaded hole in soft materials like plastic, press inserts can be pressed into the material. Nut inserts can be used to produce permanent threads in thin materials and provide a virtually flat finish.
