Socket Set Screws

Socket set screws, commonly known as grub screws, are grub screws that have no head and are tightened or loosened by a square or hex key. A screwdriver can be used to adjust a slotted set screw. Socket set screws keep a pulley or other machine part from moving around on a shaft. A cup point set screw has a rounded tip that grips the shaft surface and resists deformation. A screw with a flat point makes more contact with the shaft.
